Biocide Ortho Phenyl Phenol is used as a surface disinfectant and is added as an ingredient in the formulation of floor & glass cleaners, medicinal soaps & liquids, and underarm sprays or deodorants. It has the chemical formula C12H10O and molecular weight of 170.21 g/mol with the boiling point range of 280 to 284 degree Celsius. This alcohol compound also finds its application as fungicide in food packaging and for the surface treatment of citrus fruits for extending their shelf life.
